Out now: the new interactive EJCAP!
Brussels, April 2012 – The European Journal of Companion Animal Practitioners (EJCAP) has become the first European fully online veterinary journal.
Interactive continuing education
After 21 years of bringing veterinary continuing education in print to companion animal practitioners throughout Europe, the EJCAP has now become fully interactive.
This means it comes with all the advantages of so-called rich media. This includes videos with clinical presentations, endoscopy and ultrasound recordings, diagnostic and surgical techniques, interviews with experts, conference presentations as well as slide shows, interactive quizzes, surveys and animations.
The frequency of publication has also been increased, from three to four issues per year, including one special issue.
Exclusive for FECAVA members
Right from the start, EJCAP online has been available in two languages – English and Spanish – to be even closer to its members. More languages are planned in future.
EJCAP will continue to offer a selection of high quality articles of continuing education in the various disciplines of veterinary practice. All articles can be downloaded in full (pdf), for the comfort of its readers.
As the official journal of the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA), it is exclusively available to FECAVA members. Registration is easy: interested practitioners should simply go to EJCAP online (www.fecava.org/ejcap) and indicate the national companion animal veterinary association of which they are member, upon which they will receive a password. Once registered and logged in, EJCAP online and previous print volumes of EJCAP (available in pdf) can be accessed directly.
Feedback welcomed
Simon Orr, FECAVA president, comments: “Since the momentous decision to publish EJCAP online was taken by our Council in Lille in 2009, we are delighted to offer our members this new and engaging way to gain new information and skills.”
As we start work on the next issues, we invite all our readers to give us feedback on this first volume of EJCAP online. On the last spread (page) there is a link to a survey on this new format, to help us further improve and optimize EJCAPonline.”
EJCAP online can be accessed via the new FECAVA website (www.fecava.org), which also contains information about FECAVA and its contact persons, a blog, newsletters, policy statements and a calendar of events.
