SOUHRN
Účelem je tohoto sdělení je upozornit na rozdíl mezi sklerózou čočky a kataraktou. Projevy obou diagnóz mění vzhled postiženého oka, což bývá motivem návštěvy veterinárního lékaře. Pro další postup je nutné oba stavy odlišit, neboť zatímco katarakta vyžaduje chirurgické řešení, skleróza je stav fyziologický, a přestože je vhodný dlouhodobý monitoring postižených očí, není nutno k léčbě přistupovat.*

SUMMARY
The purpose of this communication is to draw attention to the difference between lens sclerosis and cataract. The manifestations of both diagnoses change the appearance of the affected eye, which is often the reason for a visit to the veterinarian. For further procedures, it is necessary to distinguish between the two conditions, because while cataracts require surgical treatment, sclerosis is a physiological condition, and although long-term monitoring of the affected eyes is appropriate, treatment is not necessary.
