SOUHRN
Článek popisuje účinky vatinoxanu (MK-467, L-659.066) – antagonisty periferních alfa-2 adrenergních receptorů. Zmiňuje jeho kombinace s medetomidinem nebo s dexmedetomidinem a vliv na fyziologické funkce u psů. Vatinoxan omezuje kardiovaskulární změny vyvolané těmito látkami, zachovává však jejich sedativní a analgetické účinky. Zmiňováno je také použití vatinoxanu v rámci premedikace celkové anestezie. Aplikace vatinoxanu u koček je zatím diskutabilní.
SUMMARY
The article describes the effects of vatinoxan (MK-467, L-659.066) – an antagonist of peripheral alpha-2
drenergic receptors. It mentions the combination with medetomidine or dexmedetomidine and the influence on physiological functions in dogs. Vatinoxan reduces the cardiovascular changes of these drugs, but preserves their sedative and analgesic effects. The use of vatinoxan as part of the premedication of general anesthesia is also mentioned. The administration of vatinoxan in cats is still controversial.
