SOUHRN
Cukrovka je pomerne častým ochorením u mačiek. V posledných rokoch došlo k zmenám v monitoringu a terapii tohto ochorenia. Kontinuálny monitoring glukózy, ktorý sa úspešne uplatňuje v praxi, uľahčuje úpravu dávky inzulínu a umožňuje detekciu tzv. glykemickej variability, ktorej redukcia bola identifikovaná v spojitosti s remisiou cukrovky. Prípravky, ktoré prispievajú k redukcii glykemickej variability, ako napr. určité inzulíny s dlhým trvaním účinku a tiež SGLT2 inhibítory, ktoré sa dostanú na európsky trh v blízkej budúcnosti, preto predstavujú sľubné terapeutické stratégie.
SUMMARY
Diabetes mellitus is a relatively common disease in cats. In recent years, there have been changes in both monitoring and therapy of this disease. Continuous glucose monitoring, which has been successfully applied in practice, facilitates insulin dose adjustment and allows detection of the so-called glycaemic variability, the reduction of which has been identified in association with diabetic remission. Products that contribute to the reduction of glycaemic variability, such as certain long-acting insulins as well as SGLT2 inhibitors, which will enter the European market in the near future, therefore represent promising therapeutic strategies.*
